Our purpose is to help you believe in the Arts as an important function of education. Our goal is to show that the Arts are not an entity in themselves but have a major contribution in the value of education, not only in the classroom, but in the world around us. Our objective is to show the Arts are not just entertainment, but have a purpose in formal education and play a major role in society.

Enjoying the Arts on a Budget

Enjoying the Arts does not have to break the bank. Check out entertainment at your local schools for great, inexpensive family fun...and the money they raise usually goes to the school's club that is hosting the event! My kids and I went to the local High School to see the Variety Show which was written, produced, and acted by students. It was fantastic! Students only cost $5.00 to get in and adults were $7.00. Not bad for a night out! Check out this link to Atlanta area theaters put together by GoCityKids Atlanta. This site includes a long list of theaters to attend with a brief description of each and a link to find more information and directions.

As a choral director myself, I was in the unique position to take 140 of my middle school chorus students to see a preview of the Variety Show that one of our local high schools was presenting this past weekend. There was over 200 high school students involved in the singing and dancing and absolutely no lack of talent! My middle school students can't wait to be part of such a huge undertaking as this show! The arts are very much alive in Fayette County!
