Art and Math

I teach 6th grade special education math. The 6th grade curriculum provides lots of opportunities for collaboration with art. This year we have taught symmetry, scale drawing, proportion, data analysis and coordinate graphing. Unfortunately, I have to admit that the collaboration is not happening at my school. Maybe as we become more acquainted with the new curriculum, the opportunities will come. I wonder if there will ever be state performance standards for art?
